Yachting Memory In Shadow

The origins of the Port Adelaide Sailing Club have been traced back to 1891. It was officially founded in 1897 with the first Annual Meeting at the Ship Hotel, Port Adelaide. October 1909 the Club officially opened its own clubshed adjacent to where the Birkenhead Bridge was built. Due to progress of the Port, with two more bridges to be constructed, the Club after 110 years relocated in October 2007 to new Clubrooms down river to Snowdens Beach in Marina Adelaide. What wonderful historic sailing memories will be lost if they demolish this time capsule.
