Port Adelaide Markets And Lighthouse

The Port Adelaide - Neptune Island lighthouse was built in 1869 and was deactivated in 1984. It was erected at the entrance to the Port Adelaide River and first lit on 1st January, 1869. It was moved to the entrance of Spencer Gulf on 1st November 1901 on South Neptune Island where it stayed until 1985. As it was in such a state of disrepair it was aquired by the Maritime Museum, where it was restored, and erected at Port Adelaide in March 1986.
