The Dragon Slayer
On the western column in the Piazza San Marco stands the Dragon Slayer, this is St Theodore which was the first patron saint of Venice. This greek warrior- saint, is displayed as the protector of Venice with his shield and spear, with a crocodile, that represents a dragon, that he had slain.
Sulla colonna occidentale in Piazza San Marco sorge la Dragon Slayer, questo è San Teodoro, che fu il primo patrono di Venezia. Questo santo warrior- greco, viene visualizzato come il protettore di Venezia con il suo scudo e lancia, con un coccodrillo, che rappresenta un drago, che aveva ucciso.
