Old And New

The old and new stand side by side in the city of London which adds to the magic of this city.
The London Eye or Millennium Wheel which formerly opened by Prime Minister Tony Blair ( 31st December 1999 ), then opened to the public 9th March 2000.
The building to left of Big Ben is Portcullis House ( accommodation for the Parliamentary Offices ) opened in 2001.
And the old but magnificent Big Ben ( The Clock Tower ) constructed and completed April 10 1858 still to this day consistently reliable since it entered service in 1859.
Big Ben is actually the nickname of the largest bell ( their are 5 bells that hang in the belfry above the clock ). The largest bell strikes the hours. Over a period of time Big Ben was referred to the whole tower and is famous to the day.
