The Limestone Coast, South Australia (30 photos)
The Limestone Coast starts from the Fleurieu Peninsula heads for Tailem Bend then south to the town of Meningie on the shores of Lake Albert which is the northern end of the Coorong National Park, this being the habitat for many migratory and local bird life.
The Coorong National Park extends along the coast to the township of Kingston S.E where you can check out the Big Lobster or Cape Jaffa Lighthouse. Carry on down south to the popular seaside town of Robe (try some crayfish there) then to Beachport, Millicent, Tantanoola Caves, then Mt Gambier the home of the Blue Lake which is spectacular, (especially between November to February when the blue water is so intense) plus the many other tourist attractions in the surrounding area.
The Limestone Coast extends inland to Penola, the famous Coonawarra wine region, Naracoorte Caves, Padthaway vineyards back to Kieth, Tintinara (centre to 10 national parks) and Bordertown. All these places have their own tourist attractions for all to enjoy. You need to take a quite a few days to take it all in. (Distance appoximately 900 Kilometres round trip)
